Reflections on 2023
In our newsletter at the end of 2022, I concluded my wrap up of the year by offering a toast to “continued growth” in 2023. What I didn’t know then was that 2023 would not just be a year of continued growth, but a year of exponential growth. While it has been an exciting time at Pupfish and inspiring to witness the company expanding on all fronts, I’ve also been reflecting on this period of growth as an opportunity for a recommitment to our core company values - integrity, transparency, security, and sustainability. As I work alongside the phenomenal and steadfast Pupfish team, I am bolstered by the knowledge that as the company grows, so does our unwavering commitment to excellence.
Over the past year, Pupfish has expanded its services to cover more geographical locations, including Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. We have continued to provide cutting-edge NAID AAA data destruction and Zero Landfill E-recycling services to clients in various industries, such as medical, financial, legal, and Department of Defense. One of our successful projects involved degaussing more than 14,000 magnetic tapes, demonstrating our expertise in data security. We also attended the Second Annual RIC Conference in Albany, as well as the NYS Innovation Summative in Saratoga Springs. To keep up with the influx of e-waste and decommissioned devices, we reconfigured our warehouse space and brought new members onboard the Pupfish team. We are proud to continue our partnership with public schools on Long Island, protecting student and district data while keeping toxic e-waste out of local landfills. Finally, we unveiled our new Pupfish logo, which reflects our growth and reaffirms our commitments to data security and environmental sustainability.
Team Pupfish spent Earth Day “investing in our planet” by participating in a Community & Corporate Garden at Long Island Cares–an organization dedicated to supporting families and individuals facing food insecurity on Long Island. We participated in the Paddle Battle LI Corporate Challenge to benefit the NY Marine Rescue Center for the third year in a row (with our intrepid team snagging a cool second place finish), as well as the Maggie Fischer Memorial Great South Bay Cross Bay Swim. Members of Team Pupfish returned to Longwood Library for our second annual Community E-Recycling Event, and continued our commitment to supporting local organizations by donating repurposed electronics to museums and historical societies. Most recently, we continued the Pupfish holiday season tradition of giving back by supporting a Coat Drive run by a Suffolk County school.
Finally, Pupfish Sustainability Solutions is proud to announce that we have kept over 200,000 pounds of toxic waste out of our landfills to date–more than tripling our total from the past two years combined! To everyone who has trusted us to provide industry-best secure data destruction and uncompromised sustainable e-waste recycling–thank you. As we move into 2024 and our fourth year of doing business, we promise to continue our commitments to security, to sustainability, and above all - to you. Here’s to the new year!
